Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to book in advance?

It is recommended that you book as far in advance as possible for all thermal experience, spa day packages, spa treatments or spa breaks to avoid disappointment.

Is there a time limit on the thermal experience?

We recommend allowing yourself two hours pre to treatments to complete the Thermal Experience journey. The Thermal Spa is bookable for a 2 hour journey.

When do I have to pay

Full payment is required upon booking for all treatments, spa days, spa experiences and spa packages. For more information please contact the spa.

What is provided on spa days?

Within our excellent facilities and changing areas, you will have your personal locker be given usage of our luxury bathrobe, towel and spa footwear to use for the day.

Robe hire package is available for other spa users.

I have booked a treatment can I also use the thermal spa

The thermal spa is a bookable experience with an additional cost for using the facilities. Pre booking is essential if you have booked a treatment the thermal spa will be offered to you upon booking at a discounted rate.

Can I book additional treatments

Please book additional treatments prior to arrival at the spa to avoid disappointment. If we have availability on the day we will endeavour to accommodate.

What are contraindications?

These are condition which makes a particular treatment or procedure potentially inadvisable. A contraindication may be absolute or may require treatment adaption. An absolute contraindication is a situation which makes a particular treatment or procedure absolutely inadvisable.

Please do let us know of allergies, medical conditions, infectious diseases, medications.

I have a medical condition

It is essential that you advise us of any medical conditions and allergies prior to arrival and receiving your spa treatment so that we can ensure they are suitable for you. Please don’t hesitate to ask our advice when you make your booking.

Pregnancy

We have signature bumps a daisy pregnancy treatments and spa days that can be enjoy throughout pregnancy however treatments cannot be performed during the first trimester of pregnancy.  Following this stage we recommend you seek advice from your own GP/Midwife as each pregnancy is different.

Do you cater for group bookings?

We have a private hire package for the best value with minimum numbers of 15.

We limit group bookings to a maximum of eight people per group. We only accept one large group booking per day.

Are they any age restrictions

The spa is an adult only environment for those 16 and over.

Where can I park

We have onsite parking at Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub

What about my jewellery and valuables?

Lockers are available within the spa, however we recommend that you leave any valuables at home, as we cannot be held responsible for any loss incurred

Running late?

Arriving late will mean that your treatment time is shortened. Your treatment will end on time so the next guest will not be delayed. The full value of your treatment will be charged. Please leave ample travel time to get to the location.

Cancellation policy

Spa Treatments please provide us with 72 hours’ notice of cancellation.

Any group of 3 or more must give at least 7 days’ notice of cancellation.

Regrettably if you cancel or just fail to arrive within the stated timeframe you will be charged the full payment.

What happens on the day

On arrival treatment times will be confirmed, consultation forms completed and a spa tour given.

If you are on a package will provide you with a fluffy towel, luxury robe and footwear usage upon arrival.

Your therapist will talk to you about your treatment to enable the best treatment service.

When should I arrive

Please arrive at the spa 20-30 minutes prior to your treatment time.

If you have the Thermal Spa Journey as part of your booking it is advised to arrive two hours prior to your treatments to enjoy your two hour Thermal Spa experience.

Timings will be confirmed upon booking.

What should I bring

It is recommended that you bring 2 sets of swimwear, so that you are comfortable and warm during your spa treatments.

Can I bring my own robe and towel?

We do not allow own towels and robes inside the Thermal Spa area.

If you are on a Thermal Spa Experience you will be provided with a towel.

Can I hire a robe

We provide hire of our luxury robes, towel and foot wear for the duration of your day please ask our reception team for this option.

What should I wear

During treatments, therapists are trained to respect client’s modesty at all times, for facials we recommend you remove your upper body clothing, for massages please leave lower underwear on, you will be covered by a towel throughout the treatment

Is tipping customary at spas?

If you thoroughly enjoyed your experience with us and would like to leave a tip, common practise in Day Spas is 10% to 20%. This can be left at reception for Spa Team. We appreciate all feedback.

Discounts for LiveWire Members and NHS staff

Discount applies for Select LiveWire members only.

Proof of employment is required to receive the NHS staff discount.

Full price treatments will receive a 10% discount. Thermal Spa experiences will receive a 20% discount. All Spa Days and Special Offers are already discounted, no further discount will be offered on these.

Peak time bookings

The Garden Spa operates a peak and off peak pricing structure, bookings made Saturday- Sunday will incur a £10 Service Charge.

Is tipping customary at spas?

If you thoroughly enjoyed your experience with us and would like to leave a tip, common practise in Day Spas is 10% to 20%. This can be left at reception for Spa Team. We appreciate all feedback.
